In May we began digging the holes where the footings will be located. No concrete casting can take place until the plans are approved, but this gave us an opportunity to examine the soil conditions.

First Attempt at Submitting the Plans
After many painful weeks of trying to find a structural engineer, we were finally ready to take our paperwork in to be scrutinized by the Malmesbury City Council. A few adjustments need to be made so it’s back to the drawing board.
First Container Delivery
We managed to source two damaged shipping containers and had them delivered to site without any problems. This marks the arrival of the first shipping containers to be used on the house!
Received Plans from Architect
After many months of hard work we received back the plans from the architect. Kevin had spent many hours drawing up the perfect concept for our family and then it was onto Aubrey Philander, our architect, to draw up the final plans for submission.
