If you’ve been following our blog, you will already know that we moved from Cape Town to the countryside at the start of our shipping container project, about six months ago. Would you like to know what differences there have been to our daily lives since we moved?
It should only be a week or two before we hear from the Swartland Municipality and (hopefully) receive our signed plans. In order to distract ourselves from the impatience of having to wait before we can begin building work on the container house project, we decided to take a week off work and go away on a short holiday.
Kevin and I usually take a week off in winter and go away for a bit so the timing worked out quite well. One of our favourite places to go away for a break is Oudtshoorn.

Why is a blog about the building of a house using alternate materials running a wine giveaway?
It is quite simple. Since we took possession of the property and began working on the project, we have had no time to celebrate this fine turn of events. We are now property owners and that’s huge! A great way to celebrate is by enjoying a good meal accompanied by a great bottle of wine, along with some close family and/or friends.
